Derek Shepherd

Derek Shepherd is President of North American Automotive Group, Inc. a company he founded in 1995. Derek is originally from Louisville, Kentucky and is a proud University of Kentucky graduate.

Derek has spent his entire career in the automotive industry, and has vast experience in the development and implementation of F&I products and services. Immediately after graduating from college, Derek worked for Pat Ryan & Associates, the originator of the modern day F&I concept. After extensive work for Ryan in the U.S., Derek opened the Canadian marketplace for Ryan. Derek also has direct experience on the retail side of the business, having owned a Chevrolet store in Alabama for many years.

Derek knew from his experience both as a store owner and as a consultant and provider of F&I products for Ryan, that there was an opportunity for a new type of F&I company, one that could serve as an extension of the dealership's own personnel. Derek's vision was to create an F&I company with a total dedication to providing unparalleled service while offering a wide array of the best products available. Derek's mantra is "do things the right way for the right reasons", and that philosophy permeates every aspect of how NAAG does business.

Derek and his wife Carol have four children. The family are members of North Point Community Church, were Derek volunteers in various youth programs and leads a small group.
